The Department of Politics and International Relations has an international reputation for its rigorous analytical tradition, methodological pluralism and excellence, the promotion of exchange and exemplary practice, the propagation of advanced methodology and interdisciplinary work. It is one of the largest Politics departments in Europe, with a core establishment of over 80 full-time teaching and research staff, which is complemented by a wide range of posts in interdisciplinary research centres throughout the University held by staff whose primary discipline is Politics and who are full members of the Department.

Russian Research Ltd. was established in 1994 as an independent research company. It has considerable experience with the organisation and management of large-scale international and diverse research projects (quantitative and qualitative), effective communication, coordination, and execution of complex research designs and various national settings, effective promotion campaigns and dissemination.

The Lithuanian research group is located in Vilnius University and consists of the researchers from the Department of Sociology that was founded in 1991 as part of the Faculty of Philosophy. The Department of Sociology conducts research projects which address various aspects of social inequality.

The Institute of Sociology, Adam Mickiewicz University was first founded in 1920 by the world famous Polish sociologist Florian Znaniecki. The Institute continues a tradition of sociological research in social structure and mobility, including aspects of inequality, including theory of social stratification, social stratification in contemporary Poland, living conditions of Polish families, poverty and homeless in contemporary Poland, ethnic minorities in Poland, aging in contemporary, handicapped people in contemporary Poland.

The Institute of Sociology is at present the biggest Bulgarian centre of social research that has at its disposal a significant scientific and research potential.
